Densifiers & Hardeners
Densi Crete
DensiCrete is an internal concrete densifier designed to increase surface hardness, reduce dusting and improve long-term durability. It penetrates the slab and reacts, forming a harder, more stable concrete matrix.
Available Sizes
Key Features
- Increases surface hardness
- Reduces dusting and surface wear
- Supports polished and honed finishes
- Improves resistance to abrasion
- Deep-penetrating, non-film-forming
- Suitable for new and existing concrete
Ideal For
- polished or honed concrete
- high-traffic floors (residential or commercial)
- warehouses and industrial environments
- driveways and outdoor areas
- reducing dusting on older slabs
How It Works
DensiCrete penetrates into the concrete and reacts with free lime to form additional calcium silicate hydrate (C-S-H). This strengthens the internal structure of the slab, resulting in improved hardness, reduced porosity and better long-term performance.
Application
- 1
Ensure the surface is clean, unsealed and free of contaminants.
- 2
Apply evenly by sprayer, saturating the surface without ponding.
- 3
Keep the surface visibly wet for 20-30 minutes, adding more product as needed.
- 4
Once the slab begins to absorb the material, lightly broom to ensure even penetration.
- 5
Allow excess material to dry on the surface.
- 6
Rinse or autoscrub if residue remains once dry.
- 7
For very porous or older concrete, a second application may be beneficial.
Coverage & Drying Times
Coverage
Approx. 5–15 m² per litre, depending on porosity and finish.
Drying & Curing
- Light foot traffic
- 2–4 hours
- Full cure/reaction
- up to 7 days
Compatibility
- Suitable under polished, honed and sealed finishes
- Can be used indoors or outdoors
- Works on new or existing concrete
- Not suitable over coatings or film-forming sealers
Limitations
- May not fully densify extremely burnished surfaces
- Must not be applied to sealed or coated concrete
- Do not allow the product to dry in pools
Safety & Handling
Use standard PPE: gloves, eye protection and long sleeves during application. Avoid contact with glass and aluminium.

Start by identifying what you want the concrete to do: become harder, resist moisture, repel stains, or improve appearance. Each DuraCore product is designed around one of these outcomes.
- Hardness / reduced dusting → choose a densifier (DensiCrete or Densi Anti-Micro)
- Moisture control → choose Moisture Proof or Moisture Prevention depending on timing
- Water/oil repellency → choose a repeller (Repeller or Densi-Repeller)
- Improved appearance/surface finish → choose AquaSeal or Lustre Crete
A densifier strengthens concrete internally, while a moisture control treatment reduces moisture movement within the slab.
- Densifiers create more C-S-H inside the slab → harder, less dusty, better wear resistance
- Moisture treatments reduce vapour pathways → stabilise slabs for flooring and reduce moisture-related failures
- They solve different problems and can be used together in some cases
Densifiers work inside the concrete to make it harder. Sealers work on the surface to protect appearance and improve cleanability.
- Densifiers: penetrate and chemically harden the slab
- Sealers: create a protective film that enhances the look and provides light surface protection
- They are often used together in polished or decorative concrete systems
Use a penetrating repeller when you want protection without altering the concrete's appearance or sheen.
- you want a natural finish
- the surface receives water, oil, or food spills
- UV stability is needed (outdoors)
- slip resistance must be maintained
- you want visual enhancement
- you want a subtle sheen or finished look
A penetrating repeller is usually the best option for outdoor areas, especially driveways.
- Repeller: best protection against water, oil, and everyday contaminants
- Densi-Repeller: good option if you also want increased hardness
- AquaSeal or Lustre Crete: use only if you want an enhanced appearance (but film-formers may require more maintenance outdoors)
